FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of determining platinum in water solutions by method of stripping voltammetry by peak of selective electrooxidation PtxPby lies in the following: platinum (IV or II) is transferred in solution into chloride complex and votammetric determination is carried out. In accordance with the invention accumulation of platinum ions is performed on graphite electrode in mixed solution in presence of lead (II) ions for 60-120 seconds with further registration of anode peaks of selective electrooxidation of lead from inter-metal compound PtxPby at rate of potential sweep 50-150 mV/s with electrolysis potentials minus 0.8 V on background electrolyte 1 M HCl, concentration of platinum ions is determined by height of lead anode peak on voltammetric curve in range of potentials from 0.0 to plus 0.2 V relative to saturated silver chloride electrode by method of addition of certified mixtures.
EFFECT: invention provides possibility of reducing limit and lower boundary of determined contents of platinum by peak of lead electrooxidation from inter-metal compound PtxPby, obtained after electroconcentration of binary sediment platinum-lead on graphite electrode by SV method.
