FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: method of mobile communication includes stages, at which the following is carried out: a mobile station sends a signal of location registration request containing information on technical capabilities of a mobile station into a commutation centre of mobile communication of the first radio access network; in response to the received signal of location registration request the commutation centre of mobile communication of the first radio access network receives from the subscriber management centre a signal of information transmission about a mobile station subscriber, and selects as a radio access network, in which the mobile station shall be in a waiting condition, either the first network of radio access or the second radio access network, on the basis of information on technical capabilities of the mobile station and information contained in the signal of subscriber information transmission; the mobile station performs an operation of entry into the waiting condition in the selected radio access network. At the same time the first radio access network may provide circuit-switched communication, and the second radio access network may provide packet-switched communication.

EFFECT: possibility to determine technology of waiting radio access on the basis of technical capabilities of a mobile station.
