SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a wrapper for an absorbent hygienic product. The above wrapper for the absorbent hygienic product comprises a piece of flexible wrapping with the above piece having a first surface facing the absorbent product and a second surface facing away from the absorbent product. The wrapper (30; 90; 130) has at least a portion stretchable at least in one direction (S₁, S₂), and has a polymer coating (39; 69; 136) applied on the first and/or second surface within the stretchable portion of the wrapper (30; 90; 130). The polymer coating (39, 69, 136) contains a deodorant substance (39, 96, 136), wherein the deodorant substance (39, 96, 136) has a first inactive state when the wrapper (30, 90, 130) is non-stretched, and a second active state when the wrapper (30, 90, 130) is stretched. The wrapper has at least one fold (40, 109) and the coating (39, 96, 136) is applied on the inside of the above fold and found in the inactive state while being closed by the fold to avoid any impact thereon when the wrapper is non-stretched, and found in the active when the wrapper is stretched, and the above at least one fold is straightened, and the coating is open.
