FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used in producing 5.45-30 mm-caliber gun barrels. Initial billet is subjected to heat treatment and pre-machining to make a tube billet. Said tube billet has die part and drive part composed of a large and a small cylinder, said parts being made at rube ends. Said small cylinder features length smaller than the height between transition between said large and small cylinders. Tube billet is subjected to radial squeezing at radial squeezer to produce barrel forged piece. Note here that tube drive part is fixed at squeezer driver toothed chuck.
EFFECT: increase in drive center service life by one and a half to two times.
