FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: compensating coupling comprises two identical cylindrical coaxially arranged half-couplings and elastic elements connecting them to each other. Elastic elements are made in the form of sections of a flexible steel rope installed into slots on outer surfaces of half-couplings capable of axial displacement. Both half-couplings are covered with a cylindrical helical spring that fixes sections of ropes against dropping, and half-couplings relative to each other. Elastic elements are retained at the ends of the coupling with the help of washers.
EFFECT: increased compensating ability of a coupling and its increased fire resistance.
