FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: system includes two radio beacons, two radio compasses and a computer. The radio beacons are placed at the beginning of the landing strip on the left side and the right side of the axis of the landing strip at equal distances. The radio beacons operate each at its own frequency. The radio compasses are installed on the aircraft and are tuned each to the frequency of its own radio beacon. Based on the base direction between the radio beacons and the difference in angle values, the computer of the system determines the direction and distance to the beginning of the landing strip with display of the location of the beginning of the landing strip on a display screen.
EFFECT: safer aircraft landing on a landing strip.
