FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: satellite network comprises data reception and storage ground stations (5) equipped with storage means (13), each station (5) having means for receiving observation data from at least one satellite on a near-earth orbit. Each station (5) is connected to at least one digital network (15) and is equipped with at least one management module so that the different stations (5) cooperate together in order to provide a permanent and transparent shared access to said observation data coming from at least one satellite and stored in different stations (5). The satellite network is adapted to be accessed as a single information resource from any access point in the network (15).
EFFECT: providing high spatial resolution with high frequency of covering the earth's surface, enabling storage of extremely large data streams without the need to use a central server.
