FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to enrichment of carbonate mineral base by scavenging of undesirable impurities. Method of scavenging by magnetic separation includes the steps that follows. Simultaneous or series mixing of multiple magnetic micro particles and reagent of formula I or formula II: U(I) R1R2R3 M; (II) R1R2R3R4 M+ X-, where M is either N or P, X represents anionic counter ion While R1, R2, R3 and R4 is independently selected from H or organic residue containing 1 to about 50 carbon atoms or wherein at least two of the groups R1, R2, R3 and R4 ring structure including up to 50 carbon atoms. At least one of the groups R1, R2, R3 and R4 make the organic residue containing 1 to 50 carbon atoms. Or at least two of the groups R1, R2, R3 and R4 form jointly a ring structure including up to 50 carbon atoms. Note here that reagent of formula I or formula II represents a compound selected from the group consisting of secondary amine compounds, tertiary amine compounds, heterocyclic amine compounds, secondary ammonium compounds, tertiary ammonium compounds, heterocyclic ammonium compounds, phosphonic compounds and combinations thereof with mineral base including carbonate with formation of the mix. Besides it comprises application of magnetic field to the mix to separate valuable mineral from inferior mineral for enrichment of carbonate mineral base.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of concentration.
