FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and may be used for cutting of materials by, for example, mills with cutting plates inserted in its body. Cutting plate comprises top surface, bottom surface and multiple lateral surfaces jointing said top and bottom surfaces to make obtuse angle with bottom surface and acute angle with top surface. Lateral surface comprises first and second lateral surfaces that make obtuse angle with each other if seen from above. Major cutting edge is formed at intersection of the first lateral surface and top surface. Inclined cutting edge intended solely for milling of inclined surfaces and auxiliary cutting edge are formed at intersection of second lateral surface and top surface. Obtuse angle formed by lateral surface and bottom surface is larger than that formed by first lateral surface with bottom surface. Angle formed by first lateral surface with bottom surface increases along major primary cutting edge from top surface angle to intersection with inclined cutting edge. Invention covers also the cutting plate implementation versions.
EFFECT: possibility of machining part inclined surfaces, higher quality of machining.
