FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes flat-bottomed heated and cooled cups which are fitted with thermocouples and a heat-insulating cover. The cooled cup is placed coaxially inside the heated cup with a gap between the two cups which is equal to 0.25÷0.30 times the diameter of the inner cup.
EFFECT: wider operating temperature range.
