FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a mercury oxidation catalyst (versions) and a method for production thereof (versions). Described is a catalyst for oxidising mercury in exhaust gas to a water-soluble mercury compound which prevents volatility of MoO3, which contains: TiO2 as a support; V2O5 and MoO3 as active components deposited on the support, and at least one of the elements selected from a group consisting of W, Cu, Co, Ni, Zn and compounds thereof, as a component which prevents volatility of MoO3, deposited on the support. Described is a catalyst which does not contain a MoO3 peak in X-ray diffraction analyses. Described is a method of preparing the catalyst, which comprises the following steps: preparing a solution A of catalyst material containing MoO3 as an active component and a component which prevents volatility of MoO3; depositing components from the solution onto a substrate containing a TiO2 support, drying and annealing. Disclosed is a method of preparing a catalyst, which involves depositing onto a support V2O5 and MoO3 as active components and at least of the elements or compounds thereof, selected from a group consisting of W, Cu, Co, Ni, Zn and compounds thereof, deposited on a support, as a component which prevents volatility of MoO3.

EFFECT: longevity of a catalyst which is capable of preventing volatility of MoO3.
