FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to ethylene copolymers and a method for production thereof. Described is a copolymer of ethylene and at least a first α-olefin comonomer having n carbon atoms and at least a second α-olefin comonomer having (n-1) carbon atoms, wherein n assumes values from 4 to 13, where the copolymer contains 60 to 80 wt % ethylene and a total of 20 to 40 wt % said first and second C3-C13-comonomers, and where the copolymer has polydispersity Mw/Mn equal to less than 3.5, and density from 0.855 to 0.880 g/cm3, where the copolymer is obtained using a method comprising the following steps: obtaining a catalyst system containing a catalyst which contains a transition metal complex capable for forming said ethylene copolymer, which produces said at least second α-olefin comonomer from ethylene, where said catalyst system contains a catalyst which contains chromium complex, where the catalyst contains a monocyclopentadienyl complex of formula: and/or and feeding the ethylene and said at least second α-olefin comonomer to a polymerisation step in the presence of said catalyst system. Also described is a method for copolymerisation of ethylene and at least a first α-olefin comonomer having n carbon atoms and a second α-olefin comonomer having (n-1) carbon atoms, wherein n assumes values from 4 to 13, comprising steps of obtaining a catalyst system containing a catalyst which contains a transition metal complex capable of forming said ethylene copolymer, which produces at least the second α-olefin comonomer from ethylene, where said catalyst system contains a catalyst which contains a chromium complex, and feeding the ethylene and said at least first α-olefin comonomer to the polymerisation step in the presence of said catalyst system, where the catalyst contains a monocyclopentadienyl complex of formula: and/or . Described also is a copolymer obtained using said method.
EFFECT: obtaining an ethylene copolymer having a narrow molecular weight distribution and crystallinity, which can be obtained in a single step during a polymerisation reaction, while excluding problems of stickiness, both in the reactor and during optional further processing.
