FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: carrier-based catalyst comprises transition metal compound and component, consisting of carrier and alumoxane. Alumoxane contains 14-40% of aluminium based on total weight of carrier and alumoxane. In this case, not higher than 10 wt % of aluminium is extracted for 1 hour at 90 C using 10 ml of toluene per 1 g carrier-based catalyst component. Catalyst component is prepared by fixing alumoxane in the form of freely flowing carrier-based powder by heating in inert atmosphere at 75-250 C and washing it with aromatic hydrocarbon solvent in one or more stages. Transition metal compound is added so that the resulting product is not exposed to temperature of equal or higher than decomposition temperature of transition metal compound, and carrier-based catalyst is prepared prior to or after heating said catalyst component or after carrying out washing stage, use of such catalysts in polyaddition methods solves or substantially reduces the problem of contamination of reactor, especially when gas-phase polymerization or polymerization of suspensions occurs.
