FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing alkoxy silanes. Disclosed is a method of conducting controlled hydrolysis and condensation of alkoxy silane containing expoxy functional groups, and optionally another alkoxy silane with organic functional groups, wherein 0.001 to at most 5 moles of water are used per mole of alkoxyl groups in the used silanes and besides boric acid as the hydrolysis catalyst and components taking part in condensation, no other hydrolysis or condensation catalysts are used, and the resultant condensation products are based on Si-O-B bonds and/or Si-O-Si bonds. Also disclosed is a mixture of condensation products obtained using said method, which can be used as a modifier in polymer synthesis.

EFFECT: disclosed method enables to conduct maximally complete hydrolysis and at least partial condensation of alkoxy silanes with organic functional groups even with amount of water less than the stoichiometric amount.
