FIELD: building materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to primers for metal surfaces. Water-based primer is proposed, containing: (A) polysiloxane sol, (B) from 0.1 to 10% by wt. of water-soluble zinc salt with solubility in deionized water of at least 0.5 g/l at 25°C, and (C) at least one anti-corrosion pigment. In this case, the specified polysiloxane sol is sol obtained by a method including: (i) hydrolysis of at least one alkoxysilane with bis-amino-functional groups or alkoxysilane with an epoxide functional group; (ii) interaction of the resulting hydrolysis product with itself, with at least one optionally hydrolyzed alkylalkoxysilane or with at least one optionally hydrolyzed alkoxypolysiloxane with an amine functional group. A set for the production of primer, a method for protection of metal substrate from corrosion, using the specified primer, and metal substrate covered with cured primer are also proposed.
EFFECT: proposed primer quickly dries and imparts the surface improved corrosion resistance, is easy-to-use due to the balance of water resistance and stability during storage.
