FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: wind turbine with a vertical axis comprising an electric generator, a support tower, at least one wing installed as capable of rotation relative to the support tower. The electric generator includes rotor and stator units. The rotor unit is arranged radially outside from the stator one. At least one wing is attached to the rotor unit so that rotation of the wing relative to the support tower causes rotation of the rotor unit relative to the stator one. The stator unit is an element of tower design and forms a part of the passage through the support tower.
EFFECT: invention provides for higher stability, simplifies design and facilitates access for maintenance and repair.
