FIELD: power engineering; alternative power supplies. SUBSTANCE: surface platform resting on ice-resistant pontoon through cylindrical columns mounts supporting tower with casing and windwheel rotating about the latter; windwheel is provided with blades of similar mass and different length which describe conical surface around windwheel shaft tilted through 45 deg. to horizon. In windy weather windwheel rotary motion is imparted through conical step-up gear to electric generator vertically mounted in tower. Pontoon is divided into one central and eight peripheral compartments and is moored by means of anchor winches, anchors, and anchor chains. Blade pitch is automatically controlled by means of wind-velocity sensor and pitch- varying mechanism. Storm protection is effected by mechanical brake. Draught and list of plant are automatically controlled by ballast-list system responding to signals of wind-velocity, list, and draught sensors.
