FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method for increasing oil carrying capacity of radial or thrust bearings consists in the fact that on toroidal races of its rings there created is regular microrelief obtained by vibrorolling-off or by vibrocutting, at which the tool is provided with supply and oscillation movements along curved surface of the toroid. Regular microrelief is created in the form of discrete crescent-shaped microwells at rotation of a ring and oscillation of the tool along axis at radial ball bearing or perpendicular to axis at thrust ball bearing at absence of supply movement; at that, the tool is installed in middle position of its oscillation till contact with surface of a bearing toroidal race of the ring. At creation of a completely regular microrelief the tool is deepened into surface of the toroidal race of the ring in middle position of its oscillation, and the following condition is met at processing:
EFFECT: simplifying a manufacturing technology of oil-retentive radial and thrust ball bearings and improving their operating properties.
