FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method includes determining the contact point of the ball with the contact surface of the roller ways and calculating the contact angle of the ball bearing according to the measurement results. The contact points of the balls with the roller ways are determined by creating an axial load on the bearing, at which residual deformation from contact with the balls remains on the roller ways. Then, the diameter of the location of the ball impressions on each of the rings is measured and the contact angle is calculated by the formula.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measuring the contact angle.
