FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: method to control a piece of ordnance in a sub-unit consists in the fact that coordinates of targets are identified with the help of a surveillance facility and sent to a sub-unit commander's control panel, topographic surveying is carried out for a position of a sub-unit piece of ordnance in the control panel of the sub-unit commander, firing settings are calculated in the commander's control panel for the specified target and the piece of ordnance. A list of terminal numbers is set in the commander's control panel, through which a message will be sent to the piece of ordnance, and transmission of the message from the commander's control panel to the piece of ordnance is carried out by means of serial establishment of a connection and transfer of a message along a digital communication channel to a terminal in accordance with the input list of numbers. Whenever a message is received, firing settings are displayed on the screen of the ordnance terminal, and a receipt is generated, which informs about the fact of message receipt, which is sent to the commander's position by means of serial establishment of the connection and transfer of the message to the terminals in accordance with the reverse list of numbers. The piece of ordnance is homed, and a shot is made. To monitor the communication channel, each terminal is waiting for a return receipt from the following terminal in the list, and if the receipt is not received within the specified period of time, the message to the commander is generated, which contains information about the fact that the message is not delivered, and the number of the terminal that had problems with sending data.
EFFECT: provision of the possibility for stable radio communication, if a command-and-observation position is considerably distances from a firing position, or between them there are obstacles that deteriorate radio communication.
