METHOD OF DETERMINING DEGREE OF ACTIVITY OF ENDOGENOUS UVEITES IN CHILDREN BASING ON DATA OF CORNEAL CONFOCAL MICROSCOPY Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61B3/13 A61F9/00 A61N5/67

Abstract RU 2495616 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for determination of degree of activity of endogenous uveites in children. For this purpose eye cornea is examined by confocal microscopy. Presence of epithelium and stroma edema, characteristics of keratocytes is obtained, presence of sparsity and folds of stroma is detected, presence of hyporeflective defects of endothelium, expansion of intercellular spaces, local hyperreflectiveness with blurring of boundaries of endothelial cells, focal tractions and edema of endotheliocytes is detected. Remission is determined if edema of epithelium and stroma is absent, single "activated" keratocytes in field of vision in one of stroma layers and precipitates with clear boundaries are present. In case of mild edema of epithelium and stroma in combination with one or more of the following signs: "activated" or "agglutinated" keratocytes from 2 to 5 in field of vision in one of stroma layers, presence of stroma sparsity, precipitates with unclear boundaries, hyporeflective defects of endothelium to 5 in field of vision, single expansions of intercellular spaces, minimal local hyperreflectiveness with blurring of boundaries of endothelial cells, subactive uveitis is determined. In case of moderate edema of epithelium and stroma in combination with one or more of the following signs: "activated" and "agglutinated" keratocytes more than 5 in field of vision in one of stroma layers, presence of sparsity and folds of stroma, precipitates with unclear boundaries, hyporeflective defects of endothelium from 5 to 20 in field of vision, expansions of intercellular spaces from 2 to 5 in field of vision, moderate local hyperreflectiveness with blurring of boundaries of endothelial cells and focal cell tractions, subacute uveitis is determined. In case of manifested edema of epithelium and stroma in combination with one or more of the following signs: "activated" and "agglomerated" keratocytes more than 5 in field of vision in all layers of stroma, presence of sparsity and folds of stroma, precipitates with unclear boundaries, hyporeflective defects of endothelium more than 20 in field of vision, expansions of intercellular spaces more than 5 in field of vision, manifested local hyperreflectiveness with blurring of boundaries of endothelial cells, focal cell tractions and edema of endotheliocytes, exacerbation of uveitis is determined.

EFFECT: method ensures optimisation of diagnostics of degree of uveitis activity in said category of patients, which in its turn makes it possible to correct drug therapy and determine optimal terms of surgical treatment.
