FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. For the prevention of complications in the selection of orthokeratologic contact lenses, therapeutic correction is performed with the help of root protective agents the next day after the selection of orthokeratologic contact lenses and continues it for 7 days. After that, confocal microscopy of the cornea is performed, according to which the histomorphological state of the cornea is assessed. When an epitheliopathy is detected, characterized by the presence of an enlarged epithelial cells with fuzzy boundaries and hyperreflective nuclei, as well as with the occurrence of "active" keratocytes in the anterior stroma of the cornea in the amount of more than 10 cells/mm2 therapeutic correction of the adaptation period with the help of corneoprotectors is continued up to 14 days. Then repeat confocal microscopy, assess the histomorphological state of the cornea and with repeated detection of epitheliopathy, characterized by the presence of enlarged epithelial cells with fuzzy boundaries and hyperreflective nuclei, as well as the occurrence of "active" keratocytes in the anterior stroma of the cornea in an amount of more than 10 cells/mm2 make cancellation of orthokeratologic contact lenses.
EFFECT: method allows to timely prevent possible complications of the adaptation period of selection of orthokeratologic lenses due to early detection of histomorphologic changes.
