METHOD OF DETERMINING DIFFERENTIAL INDICATIONS FOR TERMS OF PERFORMING KERATOREFRACTIVE OPERATIONS AFTER WITHDRAWAL OF SOFT CONTACT LENSES IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC HYPOXIA BY DATA OF CONFOCAL CORNEA MUCROSCOPY Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61F9/00

Abstract RU 2407490 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to ophthalmology, and can be used when determining indications for terms of performing keratorefractive operations (KRO) after withdrawal of soft contact lenses (SCL) in patients with chronic hypoxia by data of confocal microscopy (CM) of cornea. After SCL withdrawal, estimated are form, size and quantity of anterior and posterior epithelium cells; state of Bowman's and Descemet's membranes, keratocytes, nerve fibres and extracellular stroma matrix, subepithelial nerve plexus. Depending on degree of cornea hypoxia severity, wearing SCL is cancelled before KRO and drug therapy is administered until cornea structure is restored to close to physiological values: in case of initial stage of hypoxia - for 14-15 days, in case of developed stage - for 1.5-2 months, in case of advanced stage - for 6-7 months.

EFFECT: method allows to reduce risk of developing disregenerative post-operative complications after keratorefractive operations in patients, who use soft contact lenses.
