FOOD COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING COATED LIPID GLOBULES Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A23L1/29 A23L1/30

Abstract RU 2496343 C2

FIELD: food industry.

SUBSTANCE: this invention relates to a food composition f0r babies and/or infants, the composition containing a lipid component including lipid globules coated with polar lipids or phospholipids. The food composition contains 10-50% of vegetal lipids of the composition dry weight, (i) 0.5-20 wt % of phospholipids of the total lipids content or (ii) 0.6-25 wt % of polar lipids of the total lipids content. The polar lipids represent the sum total of phospholipids, glycosphingolipids and cholesterol. The said composition contains lipid globules with a core containing the said vegetal lipids and a core containing the said phospholipids or polar lipids. The food composition has lipid globules with diameter equal to 1 - 10 mcm and/or 2-12 mcm in a quantity exceeding 45 vol. % of the total lipids content. By way of a version, the food composition has lipid globules sized under 1 mcm, more specifically - within the 0.3-0.6 mcm interval, and having a diameter equal to 2-12 mcm in an amount equal to at least 45 vol. % of the total lipids content with over 55 vol. % of lipid globules have a diameter less than 2 mcm. The lipids have a fatty acid profile of linoleic acid to alpha-linoleic acid (weight ratio) as equal to 4-7.

EFFECT: food composition is applied for prevention, reduction of the risk of and/or treatment of adiposity as well as for improvement of body composition at a later age.
