SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nutritional compositions containing specially formulated lipid globules that are particularly suitable for premature infants, children with a body weight small for their uterine age, and for infants with slow growth due to physical or psychological stress after birth. Provided a lipid for the preparation of a nutritional composition for use in stimulating controlled catch-up growth in an infant selected from the group consisting of premature infants, children with a body weight small for their uterine age, and infants with slow growth due to physical or psychological stress after birth, wherein the lipids are present in the lipid globules having a volume median diameter of at least 1.0 mcm; and/or a phospholipid coating, besides the nutritional composition comprising at least 0.5 % by weight of phospholipids with respect to the lipids as a whole. Nutritional composition additionally comprises 2.1 to 4.1 g of proteins per 100 kcal and 1.7 to 3.3 g of proteins per 100 ml.
