SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to medical devices with needles. A syringe comprises a cylinder, a retracted needle, a needle retraction assembly and a piston sliding to engage with the cylinder, wherein the needle retraction assembly comprises a needle holder, and the piston comprises a hollow body having a front end with a blunt ring surface limiting an opening into an inner retraction cavity configured so as to enclose a sufficient portion of the needle retraction assembly to cover the retracted needle completely. The cylinder, piston and ring surface are configured together so that a square projection enclosed inside the cylinder and facing backwards contacts the ring body of the piston seal.

EFFECT: using the inventions is expected to reduce a probability of re-use, needle pricks and accidental infection of medical personnel.
