FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of pellet powder for small arms. The method involves production of powder lacquer, dispersion thereof on spherical particles, dehydrating and stripping ethyl acetate from powder elements, followed by washing, sorting, phlegmatisation and drying. The suspension of pellet powder in water from a washing vessel is pumped with a mass pump into a head tank mounted over a wet sorting apparatus. The pellet powder settles in the head tank and excess water is decanted from the tank to powder concentration in the water of 25-30 wt %. The obtained water-powder suspension is fed for set sorting by sector feeder in turbulent conditions while stirring.

EFFECT: invention enables to mechanise and automate the phase of feeding the water-powder suspension for wet sorting in order to separate pellet powder into given fractions.
