FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: dry coke quenching method involves coke loading to an antechamber of a dry coke quenching plant and its cooling in a coke-cooler plenum with circulating inert gases. Hot bulk coke is loaded to the antechamber together with briquettes on the basis of bituminous coals or coke (semi-coke) fines of the following sizes: for metallurgical coke - with fineness of 25 mm, for obtaining coke nut - with fineness of 25 mm in quantity of 10-15% of the loaded coke weight. Mixture of coke with briquettes is kept in the antechamber for 45-60 minutes.
EFFECT: invention allows increasing the yield and improving qualitative characteristics of all product classes of bulk coke.
