FIELD: metallurgy; methods and devices for coke cooling. SUBSTANCE: coke is cooled by indirect heat exchange with cooling agent in shaft-type chamber 1 accommodating heat exchangers 4. Then coke is cooled by direct heat exchange with water in rotary drum 6 which has device for water supply over the entire length of drum and device 10 for coke mixing. Water is supplied to drum by zones in amount ensuring its evaporation in each zone and attaining the preset temperature at the outlet of each zone. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 1 dwg
