FIELD: nuclear and radiation physics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method that can be used to evaluate characteristics of hard gamma-rays, including fluence and spectral composition of bremsstrahlung, from high-power pulse sources depends on multichannel recording of electric charges induced by radiation energy absorbed in similar-shape and equal-size sensing areas of detectors at outputs corresponding to respective detector channels; in the course of recording collimated gamma-ray stream is converted into fast electron and positron streams using working set of converters installed in front of sensing areas of detectors and made of materials having different atomic numbers out of entire periodic-system table, their thickness being chosen so as to ensure that selective sensitivities of recording channels formed in the process in various gamma-quanta energy areas covered entire range of gamma-ray energies; radiation pulses of source under investigation are pre-recorded using in all channels equal-size converters made of material similar to that of converters out of working set.

EFFECT: enhanced precision of evaluating recording-channel relative sensitivity, facilitated measurement procedure, enlarged range of experimental data obtained.
