FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in the disclosed image-forming apparatus, sheets are fed one after the other into an image-forming section. When one-side printing is required, a sheet having an image formed on its first side by the image-forming section is re-fed into said section in order to have an image formed on its reverse side. When there is a sheet for double-side printing following a sheet for one-side printing, the image-forming order is altered such that the first side of the sheet for double-side printing has an image formed before the sheet for one-side printing. Upon prediction of a state where a sheet for one-side printing cannot be fed, the image-forming order does not change.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of a printing task which includes one-side printing and double-side printing, improved performance upon prediction that the printing task will be interrupted, eliminating difference in image quality between the front and back sides of a sheet.
