FUSE BLOCK Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC H01H85/00

Abstract RU 2497221 C2

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: fuse block includes many distribution boards (8). Many foil elements (6) pass between a pair of contact plates (2, 4) and is physically supported with distribution boards (8). A pair of parallel buses (12,14) is connected in series with foil elements (6) and generates magnetic field (B) that is mainly perpendicular to the current flowing through foil elements (6). In case supposed fault current is available, foil elements (6) are fused and create an electromagnetic force at formation of an arc, which, as a result of interaction with magnetic field (B) and arc flux, pushes fused elements from foil (6) to distribution boards (8). This increases arc length and arc voltage. At least foil elements (6) and distribution boards (8) are preferably located in flowing liquid dielectric, for example, MIDEL 7131. Flow of liquid dielectric can help push fused foil elements (6) to distribution boards (8) and remove solid particles from the arc place.

EFFECT: creation of a fuse block with high stability to action of external factors, such as mechanical impact and outside temperature, which provides passage of high nominal current and quick opening of a circuit at passage of fault current.
