FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of instrument-making and can be applied for medical purposes for measurement of patients' body temperature. Claimed is electronic thermometer, in which state of contact with patient's body can be confirmed by means of simple, convenient of assembling configuration. Electronic thermometer includes hollow external case with probe 30, which contains unit of temperature measurement, contacting with user's measured area with its anterior end, temperature sensor 6, located in temperature measurement unit, for determination of temperature, internal case 40, which is installed in axial hole of external case. Electronic circuit board is fixed ob internal case 40. Device also contains control circuit which processes data from temperature sensor 6, formed in electronic circuit board, and a pair of electrodes 7a and 7b, fixed on internal case 40. Electrodes 7a and 7b are installed inside probe 30 by installation of internal case 40 on external case. Control circuit includes determination unit, which measured electrostatic capacity between the pair of electrodes, and determines whether probe 30 is in proper contact with user's measured area, on the basis of change of measured electrostatic capacity.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of temperature measurement.
