FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to starch derivatives, specifically hydrophilic conjugates of hydroxyethyl starch and 2,6-diisobornyl-4-methylphenol. Obtained is a water-soluble conjugate which contains hydroxyethyl starch and 2,6-diisobornyl-4-methylenephenol moieties which are bonded with a polysaccharide through an ether bond, and has a general formula I: , where R=H, CH2CH2OR, A is a 2,6-diisobornyl-4-methylenephenol moiety, n has a value from 100 to 2000, average molecular mass (MM) of the polymer ranges from 15000 to 300000, preferably in the range of 50000-300000, content of the covalently bonded 2,6-diisobornyl-4-methylenephenol moiety in the polymer ranges from 0.5 to 6.0 wt %.
