FIELD: instrument engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method of functioning of the system of topographic precise positioning and navigation (STN) under conditions of military use, including carrying out the operation of preparation to perform the military (training) mission, conducting orientation at the starting point, accomplishment of mission in the mode "Navigation", archiving surveying data, accomplishment of mission in the mode "DTM", the transfer of the results of the connection on the automated channel of information exchange of the system of communication and passing data (SCPD) with the control stations of senior and interacting organisations. The operations performed by the system of topographic precise positioning and navigation comprise the following modes and missions of operation of hardware and software system; Mode "State" made with the ability to display in activation the mission "Indication" of information about the readiness of system for work and the chosen coordinate system, displaying the current data of land-based vehicle (LBV) according to the data of strap down inertial navigation system (SDINS-TP), equipment of satellite navigation (ESN), displaying the current state of the Doppler velocity sensor (DVS) and universal mechanical velocity sensor (MVS), displaying of the current data of LBV according to the data of system of height determining (SHD), the mission "Calculation of correction for work with the viewing device", made with the ability to determine the correction for work with the viewing device and carried out in the mode "Maintenance", the mode "Binding AP", made with the ability to determine the mutual position of the acoustic direction finders that are part of LBV.

EFFECT: formation of the method of functioning of the system of topographic precise positioning and navigation, equipped with modern hardware, under conditions of military use, which determines the optimal algorithm for its functioning and providing a high degree of automation the implementation of the series of actions of survey support of LBV, where the system is installed, in accomplishment of mission by the crew on military appointment.
