FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: cutting plate is composed of polygonal plate and comprises angular section over at least one of polygonal surfaces and groove made at end rib section extending from angular section, and recessed from one polygonal surface to the other one, major cutting edge, peripheral cutting and minor cutting edge made at cross rib section between said major and peripheral cutting edges if seen from side opposite polygonal surface. Minor cutting edge crosses peripheral cutting edge at obtuse angle to get connected with the groove. Note here that said groove has face surface including surface inclined downward. Note here that angle between direction of maximum inclination of the surface inclined downward and direction along major cutting edge is larger than that between direction of maximum inclination and direction along minor cutting edge. Cutting tool body major peripheral section has cutting plate coupled therewith, tool inner wall prepared hole can be reamed. Note here that cutting plate is mounted at tool body so that one polygonal surface is directed toward tool rotational direction, angular section extends toward tool body face end in direction of central rotational axis and outward in radial direction. Major cutting edge and minor cutting edge extending from angular section extend from face and rear surfaces, respectively. Minor cutting edge extends in fact parallel with central rotational axis. Note here that at least one face angle of face surface section adjoining the major cutting edge area located nearby angular section is larger than radial face angle of face surface adjoining minor cutting edge.

EFFECT: higher strength of cutting edge.
