CUTTING TOOL AND INSERT (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC B23C5/20

Abstract RU 2557118 C1

FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: insert features polygonal shape and comprises two opposite end surface and peripheral side surface arranged there between to connect said end surfaces and including two opposite identical main side surfaces with bore extending there between, and insert mid plane parallel with end surfaces. Insert cutting edges are composed on intersection of end surfaces with peripheral side surface. Note here that every cutting edge comprises conjugated sections of major and minor cutting edges directed at acute internal angle to insert mid plane to make angular cutting edges at its top with making of angular cutting edges at its lower parts. Major rear surfaces abut on every section of the major cutting edge and are arranged at acute internal angle to insert mid plane. Note here that every end surface includes front surfaces abutting on every cutting edge to extend therefrom, mainly, inside the insert complying with end surface. Not also that every like section of major cutting edge, mainly, perpendicular to major side surfaces, acute internal angles on main rear surfaces inclination to mid plane abutting on appropriate section of the major cutting edge are not equal, or at least one section of the major cutting edge has one width and/or internal angle of inclination to protective chamfer mid plane at front surface abutting on said section of major cutting edge. Other sections of major cutting edges unlike the first one feature other widths and/or internal angles of inclination to mid plane of protective chamfers made at front surfaces abutting on said sections of major cutting edges. Or one end surface has one wear-proof coating with one sliding friction factor while second end surface, unlike the first one, features another wear-proof coating with the other sliding friction factor not equal to the first one. Besides, invention discloses the cutting tool for use of above described inserts.

EFFECT: decreased vibrations and harmful effects on machined surface, higher tool efficiency.
