FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to stiffness element and to its production. Tool to form element with C-like cross-section comprises inner roller with cylindrical body and cylindrical inner surface connected with opposite flat end surfaces complying with appropriate rounded bulged parts and outer roller with cylindrical central part connected with opposite end flanges by appropriate rounded concave parts. Inner roller part can be arranged between outer roller end flanges and is spaced therefrom to make a cavity complying with required cross-section of element being formed. Rounded convex and concave parts feature radius of curvature varying over peripheral surface of appropriate roller. Method of forming said C-shape element from composite reinforced with fiber with outer flanges connected with central rib by rounded beads comprises feeding the composite through forming tool space and revolving said rollers to vary the radius of curvature of said rounded beads.
EFFECT: production of stiffeners of high strength with no folds.
