FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to stiffness element and to its production. Forming tool comprises first and second outer rollers having the truncated cone-shaped part connected with the bead by rounded part, cylindrical outer support roller arranged between outer rollers, first and second inner rollers including disc with taper surface connected with peripheral surface by rounded part, and cylindrical inner support roller arranged between inner rollers. Said first and second inner rollers and inner support roller are arranged between the beads of outer rollers and space therefrom to make the cavity complying with cross-section of element being formed. Rounded parts of inner and outer rollers feature the radius of curvature varying over peripheral surface of inner and outer rollers. Method of forming said C-shape element from composite reinforced with fiber with outer flanges connected with central rib by rounded beads comprises feeding the composite through forming tool space and revolving said rollers to vary the radius of curvature of said rounded beads.
EFFECT: production of stiffeners of high strength with no folds.
