FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves control of oxygen content in water medium at the interval of 0.1 to 6.0 mg/dm3 and introduction into water medium of inhibitor - zinc compound of 1-hydroxyethylidene diphosphonic acid. With that, after the above inhibitor is added to water medium, selective deposition of a protective film on corrosive points of steel equipment surface is performed by providing the content in water medium of magnesium of 0.208 to 6.23 mol/m3, water medium temperature of 35 to 95°C and pH value of water medium of 5.8 to 11.1. Namely, as the above compound there used is zinc compound of 1-hydroxyethylidene diphosphonic acid containing localised π-connection between phosphorus and oxygen atoms.
EFFECT: invention allows increasing protection degree of steel equipment against corrosion in water media in wide range of pH value.
