FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, rolling machinery and can be used for production of wrapping strap used for automated banding. Proposed method comprises hot strip rolling of steel, its winding, etching, cold rolling or cold rolling and heat processing. Hot rolling is performed at total relative reduction of at least 70%. Finishing temperature of rolling and winding is kept equal to 790-870°C and 540-620°C, respectively. Cold rolling is performed with total relative reduction of 55-80%. Processed is strap of steel containing carbon, silicon, manganese, aluminium, chromium, nickel, copper, nitrogen and iron. Heat processing is carried out by heating cold rolled strip to 360-450°C and holding at said temperature for 10-30 hours.
EFFECT: higher yield owing to increased mechanical properties.
