SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to electrode wire used in arc welding. To stabilise the arc and to increase life of electrode wirer contact end, electrode wire comprises wire metal base and solid conductor at surfaces of said base. Said solid conductor comprises electrically conducting ground solid substance consisting of metal oxide that retains solid state and reactive properties in air at 1200°C.
EFFECT: stabilised arc, longer life.
