FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of cellulose and lignocellulose structural materials, such as wood and composites based on wood fibers. Wood irradiated by 0.1 Mrad with power of at least 1 MeV is slaked. Wood moisture content makes smaller than 35 wt % before irradiation. Irradiation increases molecular weight of wood cellulose component from first molecular weight to second one. Second molecular weight is at least 10 percent higher than said first one. Irradiation is effected at the level of 0.25-2.5 Mrad. Wood is irradiated by gamma radiation or electron beam. Electrons featured energy of at least 1.25 MeV. Slaking is carried out in the presence of gas so that it reacts with radicals present in irradiated wood. Molecular weight increase makes at least 50 percent. Irradiated surface is coated. Irradiated and slaked wood is used for production of laminate. In compliance with second version, wood with lignin introduced therein is irradiated.
EFFECT: better mechanical properties, inhibited fungi growth.
