FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: methods for processing wood and wood products include irradiation of wood having a first molecular weight with ionizing radiation to provide an increase in the molecular weight of the cellulosic wood component to a second relatively higher molecular weight, introduction of a liquid comprising lignin into the irradiated wood to produce a combination of wood / lignin, and irradiation of the wood / lignin combination to produce wood including crosslinked lignin.
EFFECT: methods for processing wood and wood products have been proposed.
