FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: manufacturing method of brush seal implies winding of brush material on fixing members located on a flat surface of mandrel elements. Brush material is wound at required angle increased by 3°…5° to mandrel diameter and required tension in sequence passing over fixing members of internal and external elements of mandrel in a circle. Required number of rows of brush material is considered. Then brush material is compressed by the second cover plate. During compression tension of brush material is gradually released by turning external element at an angle 3°-5° for better sealing, and the whole material is finally compressed by fasteners. Wound brush material is cut by outer circumference and external element of mandrel is removed. Then brush material is attached to cover plates by, for example welding. Mandrel is dismantled, obtained brush seal is treated by inner diameter.
EFFECT: invention improves brush seal reliability.
