FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: manufacturing method of a brush seal involves multi-layered winding of a wire on the mandrel so that the required inclination angle of its loops can be provided relative to the mandrel axis. The mandrel is assembled of two rings that are arranged concentrically in one and the same plane, and fixed with a filler; wire winding is fixed on the mandrel and wire is cut along an interannular gap. Easily removable mock-up mass is used as a filler. After the wire is wound on the mandrel, mock-up mass is removed from the interannular gap; after that, the inner ring of the mandrel is turned relative to the outer one through an angle corresponding to the required inclination of a wire bristle in the brush seal, and cutting of wire winding is performed after the brush seal is assembled.

EFFECT: invention increases operating efficiency of a sealing assembly during its operation since it allows obtaining winding of higher density.
