FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, particularly, to roll damping devices. Proposed device comprises damping plates, each being arranged at ship board outer sides and equipped with drive to fit it on water surface. Said damping plates are composed of articulated oblong angles (steps) with their bulges directed from water surfaces and hinges arranged parallel with ship bearing. Said drive is composed of hydraulic cylinder to lower the damping plate surface level with water surface and at angle thereto approximating to that whereat waves come in and out so that damping plate surface approximate to that of incoming and outcoming waves.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of damping.
