FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: forward-acting symmetrical internal combustion engine comprises a body, at least a pair of coaxially arranged working cylinders, between which there is a compressor cylinder, made with a circular slot in the middle part and connected by means of channels with a system of blowdown of working cylinders. Working pistons are installed in working cylinders and are rigidly connected to each other by stems. A compressor piston is rigidly fixed in the middle part of the stem. Braking coaxially arranged cylinders have bottoms, where adjustment screws are installed. Braking pistons with a common stem alternately enter the braking cylinders. The engine comprises a crank shaft, the axis of which is perpendicular to the axis of cylinders, a pendular lever fixed on journals of the crank shaft and with the other end hingedly fixed on the axis of the beam, a system of fuel and air mixture supply and an ignition system. The beam is rigidly fixed with levers designed for transfer of motion of piston groups of working and braking cylinders. There are atmospheric slots in braking cylinders. The engine is equipped with a cylindrical chamber and a braking double-sided piston placed in the cylindrical chamber. The braking double-sided piston is rigidly fixed on levers. The common stem of braking pistons is rigidly fixed in the middle part of the braking double-sided piston. The cylindrical chamber has a cylindrical bore and an atmospheric channel, which contacts with atmosphere. There are relief valves installed in blowdown channels.

EFFECT: improved blowdown and filling of a combustion chamber.
