SUBSTANCE: invention relates to internal combustion engines. This invention consists in that engine with compression ignition and heat supply at constant volume is made with divided functions of paired cylinders. In cylinders of smaller diameter air compression is performed, and in cylinders of larger diameter expansion of combustion products is performed. At that, crankshaft journals driven by compressor pistons are shifted forward by 90 degrees, and compressed air is passed through intermediate combustion chambers with bypass valves, in which fuel is injected, and working cycle is performed. Compressor and working cylinders can be located opposite, and engine is equipped with two crankshafts, located in one plane and interconnected by engine chains via sprockets with controlled fore-run clutches for advance phase control of approach in compressor pistons TDC in relation to expansion for operation on different types of heavy fuel.
EFFECT: technical result is higher engine efficiency.
