FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: multilayer refractory structure includes an external casing containing an asbestos layer made from an asbestos-containing refractory and covering the inner surface of the external casing and a multilayer asbestos-free layer made from asbestos-free refractory and covering the inner surface of the asbestos-containing layer. The proposed method involves primary removal, and secondary removal after primary removal is completed. At primary removal, on the side of the furnace core there dismantled is asbestos-free layer, at least one external layer of the layers forming the asbestos-free layer, and the asbestos-containing layer is left as a residue. At secondary removal, the above residue is dismantled; with that, asbestos scattering safety measures are taken. The above measures include insulation of the work area, pressure reduction in the work zone, installation of a safety area, prevention of asbestos penetration to outer side and sputtering of hygroscopic substance in the work area.
EFFECT: shortening of time required for removal and increasing safety.
